A team of three researchers from Hong Kong City University has developed a small drone (Small maple drone based on maple pod) based on maple pods. The researchers also added electronics and batteries between drones. This assembly weighs less than 35 grams and rotates at about 200 revolutions per minute. Tests have shown that it can float in the air for up to 24 minutes. The researchers said that due to the internal strength, no microprocessor stability was required. They also say they get the aircraft to control the situation by changing the speed of the small rotors.
The researchers also tested the power of a small drone, including a camera. As the camera uses a moving drone, they adjust their center scale to match the speed of the moving drone, producing smaller but more useful videos. They have also demonstrated their ability to carry 21.5 grams for maps and tracking activities.
